I operate as a Health, Safety & Fire Consultant to a wide range of industry sectors. I am the Managing Director my my own company called JCT Health & Safety Consulting offering, private, freelance, contract and associate work.

I write bespoke policies and procedures, risk assessments and undertake staff training as well as conducting health and safety audits and fire risk assessments. I have been responsible for the delivery and the development of health and safety policies and compliance procedures for leading national companies with a demonstrable track record in securing compliance. Health & Safety Consultant, Marsh Commercial, South West (Bristol) (November 2018 – Present) · Consulting various industry sectors including: automotive, retail, manufacturing, commercial, logistics, care, construction, haulage, abattoirs, warehousing, recycling, HMO’s and hospitality etc. · Health & safety duties: Undertaking detailed audits, action plans and inspections as a starting point in order to ascertain the current level of legal compliance and best practice according to industry guidance. Achievements and responsibilities:
· Reporting to the Hotel Director of Operations on all aspects of Health and Safety, Fire Safety, Food Safety, Disability Compliance and Claims Management. This was to ensure that all safety legislation was adhered to and policies and practices were adopted. · Planning, implementing, monitoring and reviewing the protective and preventative measures that Hilton is required to follow, and working to minimise operational losses, occupational health problems, accidents and injuries. · Preparing health and safety strategies and developing internal policy. · Carrying out full investigations and auditing the hotel to ensure health and safety compliance · Assisting the Area Health & Safety Manager with managing health and safety, food safety, fire safety, security, trading standards, public health, housing, and disability · Working with the Health & Safety Manager in reducing guest civil claims · Liaising with outside contractors and sales staff on matters of Health & Safety and food safety · Assisting the Engineering department in monitoring contractors and enforcing Health & Safety standards as required i.e. permits to work, SSOW etc. · Carrying out full accident investigations to include the collection of evidence, interviewing of staff and obtaining witness statements.
