Further Information
· over 28 years’ experience in the field of Occupational Safety and Health. She started her working career in a hospital environment in General Medicine and moved into Export of laboratory equipment to the Middle East, prior to joining a prestigious research and development company on the Science Park, Cambridge. She moved into health and safety consultancy in 1999
· undertaken a variety of work across a wide range of industries including: general office environments, planned maintenance and service providers, laboratory and R&D environments, construction, warehousing, retail, motor repair trade, government offices and voluntary organisations, mechanical engineering, glazing and insulation installers, , horse racing industry, university departments and colleges, and biotechnology environments
· wide experience of: policy development, risk assessments, health and safety audits; construction safety management, development and provision of training, consultancy, fire safety, advising senior management on health and safety issues and legislation, and the strategic management of health and safety
· extensive experience in the research and development field, managing health and safety aspects of technology and science research. She has developed and implemented systems for assessing risks associated with new projects, management of contractors on site, and CoSHH management systems
· wide experience of conducting both general risk assessments and more specialised risk assessments such as Display Screen Equipment, Manual Handling and Fire Safety.
· She is experienced in conducting safety inspections of workshops, laboratories, and construction sites and has successfully helped clients to apply for CHAS Registration/Accreditation and CHAS Renewals.
