James is a dynamic, hands-on health and safety expert with a unique skill set specialising in construction health and safety support. James early career as Project Manager and Director gifted him with extensive experience managing complex projects from design to completion on sites including new housing developments and refurbishments, civils, commercials, railways and airports.

James’ extensive experience has enabled him to develop a Principal Designer support package that complies with CDM 2015. Under James guidance, his team at Simple Safety Advice delivers this support package and CPD program to over 30 design practices ranging from small two-person design studios to large corporate teams. All key stakeholders can use the Principal Designer support package to comply with both the original and new CDM 2015 regulations.

As an experienced Principal Designer, James supports a variety of projects, ranging from £1million to £120million in value providing safety documentation, site audits, mentoring and training on-site teams, carrying out accident investigations and attending senior, executive and board level meetings. James works with his clients to develop strategic plans, oversees risk management issues, ensures legal compliance and provides bespoke training in these subjects.  

James has trained and managed a successful team of accreditation managers who have achieved Link Up, ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 for a variety of clients, and regularly achieve SSIP certifications such as CHAS, SMAS, and Constructionline for those who require such support.
