COSHH
The control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations requires a suitable and sufficient assessment of the risk to health posed by working with substances that are hazardous. Very often, both in order to determine the risk to health and as a consequence of the COSHH assessment there is a requirement to measure exposure by undertaking exposure monitoring
Occhnet can undertake COSHH assessment, COSHH assessment training and occupational exposure monitoring programmes to ensure that UK legislative requirements have been met.
Manual Handling
Legislation requires appropriate manual handling assessment and training. Bad backs causeed by inappropriate handling procedures cause significant numbers of lost work-days and can cost the company dearly.
Occhnet can work with the company to identify and evaluate ares of manual handling concern. Undertaking risk assessments and training.
Noise Survey / Risk Assessment
Noise mapping and exposure monitoring give important information about the individual exposure, the risk of hearing damage, the likelyhood of future claims for NIHL and importantly the appropriate noise abatement pathway.
Occhnet has trained members of the institute of acoutics to assist you in complying with the Noise at Work Regulations and finding the correct solutions for your workplace.

Katy Welch– Managing Director, holds an honours degree in Applied Sciences, a Master of Science Environmental Management, Master of Science Equine Science is a Chartered Occupational Hygienist and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health. Katy has been working in the field of occupational hygiene since 1990 and incorporated Occhnet Ltd in 1997. She lectures on Occupational Safety at industry seminars, and been a member of the lecturing team for both Diploma in Occupational Medicine and the Occupational Medicine/Hygiene courses run by the University of Manchester and the MSc in Workplace Control run by the University of South Wales.
