Overview
Having begun my career at the age of 15 in a local glassmaking company for 6 months, I then left to join British Coal as a coalface worker, I went on to become a 123 NUM Inspector and my job was to take part in regular safety inspections and report the findings back to management and union officials. I am qualified as an NVQ Level 3 Assessor so that I can deliver NVQs in many fields of experience. I have also completed my NVQ Level 4 V1 Verifiers course at the end of September 2009. I moved towards my personal development in the field of CPC delivery within the transport industry, which I have been heavily involved in the development of the JAUPT syllabuses and built and set out various modules firstly with Arrow Staffing and then with Arthur Williams Health & Safety Training Associates. I have also achieved my Level 3 NVQ in Information and Guidance (IAG). I am now working to expand my knowledge within the Health and Safety fields within the transport industry having firstly achieved my Safety Management Criteria Foundation Course (Upper Credit Achieved). I went on to gain my NEBOSH General Certificate which I achieved with SHIelds and sitting my exams in 2011. My job roles within the companies and organisations are that I assist to develop companies to achieve CHAS standard, I work as a site inspector with a local advisory company as well as my own company and I have carried out numerous site inspections which covered Construction sites, Garages, Coach company’s, Theatre’s and retail shops. I am also a trainer and I deliver awareness courses for Working at Height, Lone Working, COSHH Awareness, IOSH Working Safely and IOSH Managing Safely and I am registered with IOSH to deliver these two courses. My main interest is to work in the development of Health and Safety within all aspects of the Construction & Transport industry by delivering courses on Health and Safety in the industries. I also gained vast experience when been heavily involved in putting together a full Health and Safety Management system into a local Garden Centre and more recently a local Bed manufacturer company and a saw mill for another local company. I also achieved my PTLLS after attending a course at Northern College. I have now expanded my Health & Safety competency by achieving my NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Health & Safety and this has given me the status as a Consultant in Health & Safety. I have a full and current DBS. I now work continually developing my own Health & Safety advisory/consultancy company with a vast knowledge base throughout a wide scope of competency and expertise in various industry sectors. I am continually developing my CPD and recently took an accredited course on CDM 2015 Regulations and also a Qualitive Face Fit Tester Course to keep my client base within legislation.
