Ms Lynne Temple
CMIOSH
Overview
I have been providing a range of Health & Safety training and consultancy services for over 25 years to organisations within the thrid sector (including NGOs, charities, housing and those specialising in health & social care). I aim to provide practical, pragmatic advice that reflects 'best practice' which is inclusive and mindful of the needs of the service. My core aim is to assist companies in developing holistic safety systems which incorporate safety and wellbeing into all activities, and is not solely about ticking boxes.
I have extensive experience in writing and reviewing policies, setting-up and implementing safety systems as well as auditing and reviewing those systems. I enjoy carrying out Accident and Incident investigation and root-cause-analysis in order to effect meaningful change. My experience from working in health & social care has ensured my approach is very person-centred, and I am able to provide advice that balances health & safety with other social legislation. My day-to-day work often includes producing briefing papers for trustees and board members, working with insurers, supporting managers to carry out risk assessments or providing factsheets and "job chats" to front-line workers.
I also work as a Coach and Mentor, across all sectors, for those who want to transform their managerial and leadership skills or who wish to develop as Health & Safety practitioners. I work using different coaching models and encourage individuals and organisations to work towards achievable solutions and goals. People who come to me for coaching have often wanted to discuss issues such as: dealing with conflict; time management; managing remote workers; working with underperformers; procrastination; perfectionism; imposter syndrome or how to develop as a manager. I have acted as a mentor for those undertaking their NEBOSH Certificate and Fire Risk Assessment qualifications - using case examples from my experience to assist them to understanding the theory on a practical level.
My formal education includes a degree in Psychology as well as a number of qualifications in Health & Safety, Coaching and Health Promotion. I have been a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH) since 2008, and pride myself in keeping up-to-date with the latest trends and information relating to my specialist topics.
My training style is inclusive and interactive with a strong emphasis on making the learning experience both enjoyable and meaningful. I aim to make training sessions relevant by personalising the sessions to each group and organisation. Participants consistently comment that I am able to make even the driest subject interesting.
