Provided technical advice and support to a fast-growing health and safety consultancy based in 2 locations. This job entails direct liaison with customers and their clients coupled with support and technical assistance to a team of 9 safety advisers/consultants.
 

• Designed and launched a custom and scalable risk assessment software programme (RAMs App) that was usable within the business and a saleable asset to clients.
• Developed policies and procedures which facilitated in customers being awarded ISO or SSIP accreditations.
• Conducted site visits and 3rd party audits on Tier 1 CDM sites.

Employed as Senior SHE Advisor for BAE systems within the ShipYard in Barrow In Furness.

The role predominatley focussed on the COMAH facility within the site.

Deliver expert counsel on offshore operations focused on health and safety with significant attention on auditing current systems and engaging with the operator’s supervisory team on all health and safety aspects. Liaise with regulatory bodies as well as cross- functional teams in accordance with operation and departmental requirements.

• Prepared and forwarded PON1, 2 and 10’s to environmental regulatory body (DECC) in the event of any reportable environmental incidents and OIR9B & OIR12’s to the health and safety executive (HSE) following the identification of any reportable incidents within the field.
• Supported external auditors during ISO14001, OHSAS18001, Occupational hygiene and regulatory audits and inspections.
• Led offshore derived Operational Risk Assessments (ORA’s & Safety Critical Risk Assessments (SCRA’s) in accordance with company operations risk management procedure.

Ensured safety regulation on-board FPSO Mondo (owned by Exxon-Mobil), working closely with client, operator, and project management teams. Functioned as Construction safety advisor on key projects. Organised and delegated safety equipment and systems maintenance schedules. Provided corporate representation during project HAZOP’s and HAZID’s.

Enhanced safety / health regulations compliance through enforcement of internal / external audit recommendations.

• Generated comprehensive end of month HSE reports for both company and client representatives.      
• Monitored vessel’s permit to work system, performed related audits and developed SMART actions to ensure continuous improvement.

Assigned to diverse operational installation and Brownfield projects throughout the North Sea with a strong focus on HS&E. Worked with duty holder HSEQ advisors, BIS Salamis onshore HSE team, and platform leaders to ensure seamless integration throughout project and operational scopes (shutdowns (TAR’s), construction projects (Brownfield and Greenfield), and general maintenance support). 

• Contracted to provide Health and safety services on-board F.P.S.O’s, Jack-ups, semi-submersible, and conventional fixed installations as per client’s requirements.
• Collaborated in associated hazard hunts, workplace inspections, 'stop drop' tours, and workplace risk assessments.
• Served an instrumental role in completion of Dunlin Fuel Gas Import project, enabling Dunlin Alpha installation to run independently without power generation from alternative platforms. This project was run concurrently with a major fabric maintenance upgrade and drilling projects.
