H &S Duties & Responsibilities:

 Responsible for all H&S management in hazardous (and often hostile) environments; dealing with substances such as petrol, diesel, aviation fuel and high pressure oils and lubricants in high volume hangars, airfields, refuelling stations and vehicle servicing bays.

 As H&S Officer for Regimental Motor Transport section, advised on SSOW, COSHH, H&S training, conducted risk assessments and consulted on H&S matters utilising all relevant legislation, reporting findings and actionable matters to the Motor Transport Manager.

As Flight Line H&S Officer reporting directly to the Airfield Manager, delivered flight line and safety training to military and civilian staff at Kandahar Airbase which at the time was the busiest airport in the world.

Performed risk assessments and professionalised operational activities in line with H&S best practice with a focus on SSOW, COSHH, PPE and Fire Safety.

Recruited to initiate, develop, install and implement effective systems and processes for regular site H&S inspections and audits.

Accountable for overseeing, developing, implementing and maintaining an effective safety programme throughout the business and ensuring legislative compliance.
